AirWeigh’s PE Series Shallow Pit Truck Scales are built rugged and heavy-duty for long-lasting performance in the harshest conditions. The weighbridges are constructed with wide flange I-beams and steel cross beams for maximum structural support for either a poured concrete deck or 3/8" steel deck plating. The self-compensating double link suspension ensures that the free-floating weighbridge will maintain its neutral position during loading and unloading to eliminate binding or constrictions.

At less than 18" in depth, the PE Shallow Pit Truck Scale design offers the most cost-effective pit requirements as well as access to all components from the top of the deck, eliminating the need for pit access. At 100-ton overall capacity and a 45-ton concentrated load rating, the PE Series is a superior-rated motor truck scale. Custom sizes are available to fit existing pit foundations as well.

STEEL DECK

AirWeigh’s PE Series- Shallow Pit Truck Scale features a rugged steel structure constructed for either steel or concrete platforms.

The steel deck option guarantees less freight, ease on installation, and the scale comes ready and completed for immediate use. Highly accurate weighing and scale repeatability are a result of the large steel I-beam construction that keeps scale deflection to a minimum.

CONCRETE DECK

AirWeigh’s PE Series- Shallow Pit Truck Scales concrete platforms feature a superior steel structure.

Concrete deck option comes prepared with the deck sheeting pan and rebar already in place for immediate concrete pouring upon installation. This is included in the truck scale sale and the detail print provided to the customer. 

FOUNDATION

AirWeigh’s PE Series Shallow Pit Truck Scale is less than 18" in depth and integrates a lower profile scale application, ensuring the customer a cost effective, quality scale installation.

AirWeigh’s engineering division will assist the customer to select the best site, considering the traffic flow of your operation, the best location for a foundation, electrical requirements, etc. All access is above grade and no confined space permits are required on this design. Maintenance and repairs are all completed from the top access covers; manholes are standard to allow access for cleaning debris from the pit floor. AirWeigh’s pit-styles have optional sump pumps or gravity drains to ensure elimination from the pit of standing water that causes corrosion.

Custom sizes are available to fit existing pit foundations and custom capacity options create the top-grade scale for any application. 

INSTALLATION

AirWeigh’s PE Series Shallow Pit Truck Scale is designed, fabricated, and manufactured in the USA. A pit installation requires less space than an above-ground scale installation. A shallow pit configuration is most beneficial where site spacing is minimal, and lowers costs attributed to the pit construction. The standard AirWeigh Shallow Pit Truck Scale modules are shipped assembled and ready to be placed into position on level concrete piers, using a crane. There are three platforms of the truck scale that are set and bolted together, then leveled out on their own concrete pier foundations, requiring minimal installation time. 

Airweigh’s PE Series Shallow Pit Truck Scale’s load cell pockets and summing network systems have top-access check covers for above-deck access. All components and suspension are easily installed and maintained without confined space certification. All load cell cabling is fully protected in galvanized conduit with summing networks in NEMA 12 watertight enclosures that are easily accessible for maintenance. POUR-IN-PLACE DECKS

AirWeigh’s PE Series Shallow Pit Truck Scales’ pour-in-place concrete deck weighbridges are the strongest in its class. The PE Series scales are designed to be ready to pour the concrete deck immediately upon installation.

The pan, rebar and shoring are pre-installed at the factory so the decks can be poured out once they are set in place. The standard cure time for the concrete is from 7 to 12 days.

The advantage of a pour-in-place concrete deck truck scale includes better traction in harsh, wet conditions and assures better load distribution across the overall weighbridge.

APPLICATION

AirWeigh Shallow Pit Truck Scale does not require the usual maintenance and repair necessary in mechanical scales. The self-compensating double link suspension ensures that the free-floating weighbridge will maintain its neutral position during loading and unloading to eliminate binding or constrictions.

Trucks require only moments on the scale to obtain speedy, precise weighments. The compensated load cells and digital indicator give quick, stable and accurate weight displays. The AirWeigh full stainless steel load cells are environmentally sealed against the effects of water in a scale pit, rust, and corrosion.

When purchasing an AirWeigh PE Series- Shallow Pit Truck Scale you can expect the factory to have loaded it on a single flatbed for a standard size scale. This automatically saves on freight costs as your scale arrives ready for offloading and immediate installation, eliminating multiple picks of the weighbridges.

We offer freight rates and will assist in shipping nationally by third-party vendors and will have taken every precaution to ensure your new AirWeigh truck scale arrives safely.

UNATTENDED VEHICLE SYSTEM

AirWeigh’s Automated Kiosk System features contactless operations, boosts efficiency, and optimizes the flow of traffic in and out of your facility with fully automated or semi-unattended ticketing. 

With ticketing kiosks, drivers can check-in, weigh-in and -out, and print tickets without exiting the truck. These kiosks can integrate with the central office and accounting systems. The user-friendly interface is housed in a rugged stainless steel enclosure for durability. 

Automated kiosks are ideal for a variety of applications, including ports, transfer stations, landfills, warehouses, feed mills, grain terminals, chemical plants, construction sites and more.

SCOREBOARD OPTIONS

AirWeigh’s Aurora 45SL Scoreboard features a built-in red/green traffic light, which is controlled either with a manual switch or through the scale indicator; improving operations on the scale. Large, bright LED display quickly and accurately communicates scale weight information.

The Aurora 45SL has many communication and diagnostic features, including auto-learn technology, and multiple pre-installed utility programs. Aurora 45SL Scoreboards are extremely flexible for use in any industrial environment.
